As promised, HTC introduced three recent phones and the score is Android 2 - WinMo 1. The HTC Legdiscontinue is a Hero's recreate and the Desire is a half-twin of the Nexus One. In the PocketPersonal Computer (PC) camp, there's the HTC HD mini. Small it very well is, not so sure about the HD bit. But still, the tiniest among them is actually the gigantic news here. The Legdiscontinue and the Desire leaked well in advance.

That pet name is obviously in fashion given the number of whatnot mini's around. The HTC HD mini is small but it's a boy's rather than a gal's gadget. You just can't miss the huge (given the phone's size) screws on each corner at the back.

On the other hand, the HTC HD mini lives up to its name, at 103.8 x 57.7 x 11.7 mm and 110 grams of weight, which isn't poor at all for a PocketPersonal Computer (PC) with a 3.2" capacitive touchclassy screen (of HVideo Graphics Array (VGA) resolution), a 5-megapixel autofocus sharpshooter, GPS receiver, Bluetooth and Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) support, and a 600 Mega Hertz (MHz) processor.
The phone will also come with 384Mega Bytes (MB) of RAM, 512Mega Bytes (MB) of Read-Only Memory (ROM) and a microSD card slot ready to accommodate microSDHC cards. Like its bigger bro, the HD2, HD mini will also be able to serve as a Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) hotspot to utilize with a computer.
The HD mini packs the latest Sense UI on top of the latest operational version of Windows Mobile: 6.5.3.
The HTC HD mini is expected to start selling in April. No word on the price though.
The HTC Legdiscontinue design is quite reminiscent of the Hero, down to the tradeimprint chin. The Legdiscontinue is made of one piece of aluminum though (MacBook, anyone?). The two devices are almost the same on the inside as well.
The smartphone will run Android 2.1 (Eclair) to be enjoyed on a 3.2" AMOrganic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) capacitive touchclassy screen of HVideo Graphics Array (VGA) resolution. The Legdiscontinue is powered by a 600 Mega Hertz (MHz) processor, and has 384 Mega Bytes (MB) of Random-Access Memory (RAM) and 512 Mega Bytes (MB) of ROM. Of course, you'll also acquire a microSD card slot, a built-in GPS receiver and support for HSPA, Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth.
The revamped Sense UI (Hero owners will be glad to know they're entitled to a free upgrade) is multi-touch enabled and has a feature called Leap to let you view all homeclassy screen panes at once with a pinch gesture. Social network integration has also stepped up with FriendStream offering live contact updates, images and links in your networks of choice.
The HTC Legdiscontinue is expected to ship in Europe by the discontinue of March, beginning of April. Price is still unknown.
The Nexus One look-alike on today's list is the recent HTC Desire (previously known as Bravo). Basically, the Desire is an HTC-Sense-d Nexus One with an optical trackpad instead of a trackball.
There's the huge 3.7" WVideo Graphics Array (VGA) AMOrganic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) capacitive touchclassy screen we've already seen and love, as well as the sizzling 1Giga Hertz (GHz) Snapdragon CPU. 576Mega Bytes (MB) of Random-Access Memory (RAM) and 512Mega Bytes (MB) Read-Only Memory (ROM) are part of the deal too. The Desire will have a GPS receiver, Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth support.
The HTC Desire will be available by the discontinue of March, pricing not yet disclosed.
